@ The Hut
How lovely it was to be able to hold our first Coffee and Cake Morning since the start of the pandemic.
During the morning, Kathryn demonstrated how to create beautiful hanging baskets using a number of different types of basket. Everything used including the plants, baskets and compost can all be purchased from the Hut as very reasonable prices.
A raffle was also run with five prizes which was drawn by our Chairman on Easter Sunday.

Our July trip took us to Powis Castle near Welshpool in Wales, the seat of the Earl of Powis, the castle is known for its extensive, attractive formal gardens, terraces, landscaped estate. The gardens were a real delight at this time of the year with all the boarders in full bloom. I have visited the estate a number of times over that last few years but I think this time of year is by far the best to seem them in there full glory with the plants set against the enormous clud pruned yew trees
Four members of the Association Katheryn Green, Malcolm Greenhalgh, Dave Hemingway & Tony Addison took part in the inter society gardeners quiz against teams from both Roby and Whiston gardeners. It was a close run thing with Newton leading into the last round. Unfortunately although the answer was on the tips of our tongues non of us could recall the answer to the very last question letting in Whiston to win by a single point. Still a very enjoyable evening
The organization and weather were both very good to use when a group of the NLWGA visited two National Trust properties near Congleton. One with it splendid gardens and the other a fine old Tudor building.
After a year off the Willow Park Craft fair was back on again and the NLWGA was proud to be able to support the event with a stall selling plants etc. The Sun shone for once and great day was had by all.
The Hut is now closed. It will reopen on the 4th January 2025.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you in the new year.
May we take this opportunity to wish you a pleasant Christmas, however you celebrate it, and a safe and happy new year.
From everyone at the Newton Le Willows Gardeners Association.
