Newton Le Willows Gardeners Association
@ The Hut
For over 100 years Newton-le-Willows Gardeners’ Association has been working for the benefits of local gardeners with a membership of about 650 in and around Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, in the United Kingdom.
It’s that time of year again – time to order the spuds. Here is the latest list including the order form. Email your order to Sheila Yorke, using the email address “graham_red@yahoo.co.uk”
The main attraction for members is our shop on the Rob Lane Allotments site in Newton (generally known as the “Sales Hut”) where composts, fertilizers, and many other gardening requisites can be purchased at very competitive prices. Since January 2022 we have been able to accept debit and credit card payments for amounts over £10.00.
Pleases note that although we are close to Rob Lane Allotments we do not have anything to do with the management of Rob Lane Allotments. Please Click HERE for details on how to contact them.
The latest pricelist is below and can be downloaded. (Please note these do change and you should check for updates when you visit The Hut)
We hold a Flower & Vegetable Show in September each year and coach trips are arranged to major flower shows, stately homes, famous gardens, or other places of interest.
Members receive two newsletters each year and the annual membership fee is £5.00
Our origins are uncertain, but the general belief is that it probably all started with the formation of an Allotments Association during the First World War. More information about the early days and pictures can be found on our “History” page.
Newton-le-Willows Gardeners’ Association is affiliated with the following organisations:
