The Show 2014

The Newton Le Willows Flower & Vegetable Show

Saturday 20th September 2014

September soon seems to come around again each year and an opportunty for the people around the Newton area, and sometimes further afield, to put on display the flowers and produce that they have been nurturing over many months to be able to enter our annual flower and vegetable show.

This year again was no exception where our exhibitors not only put some great items on display but throughout the day took the opportunity to exchange views on how to grow the finest dahlias, largest carrots and also this year growing enormous pumpkins. But as Jean showed below, biggest is not always best on the show bench! Where her oversized specimen failed to impress the judges and win a prize on the day. Better luck next year.

Many thanks to all our sponsors and especially to David Gee, President of the Newton le Willows Rotary club, for awarding the prizes.
