@ The Hut
Considering the awful (for growing things in the ground) bitterly cold spring and then the exceedingly hot and dry summer, the display of fruit, vegetables and flowers in the show held at Penkford School was superb. Among other features, a “Guess the weight” of the pumpkin and “Guess the height” of a sunflower raised a nice sum for the MS Society charity ; the 137Ibs pumpkin was given to Kenyon Hall aftyer the show where it will raise money for other charities during the pumpkin Festival. Prizes were presented by Phil Round of the Rotary Club the shows main sponsor and by Julie Johnson, Head of the school.
